Bromhexine HCl
Indications/Uses
Secretolytic therapy in acute & chronic bronchopulmonary diseases associated w/ abnormal mucus secretion & impaired mucus transport.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Max: Not to exceed twice the recommended daily dose. Adult & childn >12 yr 10 mL tid. Recommended total daily dose: 24 mg daily. Childn 6 to ≤12 yr 5 mL tid. Recommended total daily dose: 12 mg daily, 2 to ≤6 yr 2.5 mL tid. Recommended total daily dose: 8 mg daily, <2 yr 1.25 mL tid. Recommended total daily dose: 4 mg daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Hereditary conditions incompatible w/ excipient of the product.
Special Precautions
Discontinue use if new skin or mucosal lesions occur. Increase flow of secretions; SJS, TEN; diarrhoea. Avoid use during pregnancy. Not to be used in lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Hypersensitivity, anaphylactic reaction including anaphylactic shock; bronchospasm; nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, upper abdominal pain; rash, urticaria, pruritus, angioedema.
